I've worked with tech brands for almost a decade. I have experienced Moore's Law in action, have battled to keep pace with consumer tech and have witnessed with awe the rapid progress and advances of business technology. I've often wondered when the speed of tech's evolution may slow. Looks like I'll have to keep wondering.
A recent study in the US, reported on BBC's website, predicted the tech trends for 2006. I can't help feeling that we're in the middle of a spectacular phase of this evolution, in particular consumer content creation.
In our global village are we witnessing the rise of a post industrial cottage industry? Our digital homes are becoming more than entertainment centres. The digital home is already our digital work place and it's increasingly becoming (as trends suggest) our personal digital studio, broadcast hub and publishing house. Is this the start of the consumer content creation revolution Microsoft have been on about?
So the battle cry has begun. Digital workers of the world unite! Take up Apples and revolt. You're on your own.
Up the evolution.
